They made us feel welcome from the start, showed us around... read more the old town and their garden breakfasts were fantastic. We had three nights which we enjoyed immensely. They were generous with a lovely bottle of Greek red wine on arrival, fruit and other treats. The apartments had character, were beautifully appointed and spacious. When we left they helped take us and our bags to the ferry.

Meike &... read more Jay are the most wonderful hosts. They really go out of their way to ensure a 5 star service, where every need is catered for. The rooms are simply stunning and overlook a pretty garden area. We spent the afternoon relaxing around this tranquil setting. We felt truly relaxed in this very peaceful secluded oasis. Breakfast was as good as we remembered from our first visit. Delicious homemade food, healthy, full of flavour and beautifully presented.

Meike and Jay have truly mastered their trade with this little gem in the heart of Rhodes old town.

We would highly recommend a stay here and hope to visit again in the near future.

Nestled in Rhodes Medieval City and World heritage site, stepping into Helios is like stepping out of time, into a peaceful beautiful sanctuary with original exposed stone walls, and a tasteful blend of byzantine, modern and Hellenistic design that has been lovingly restored by the wonderfully attentive and accommodating hosts Meike and Jay.
Sleeping in the King size poster bed in the Eos apartment felt like living in a fairy tale. The living room, kitchen and bathroom were equipped with everything I could need along with a gorgeous attention to detail in the drinks, snacks and flowers tastefully laid out for me.
The small terrace overlooking the shared garden was perfect to sit and read in peace. The garden itself is exceptionally kept, with bright pink flowers, trees and homegrown herbs, loungers to relax in and two dining tables in the shade where breakfast is served daily if requested.
Breakfast at Helios is yet another level of delight for the senses. I had Meike's gluten free and vegetarian homemade bread and homemade peanut butter, both absolutely delicious, along with her also delicious vegetarian omelette. I actually had several of these amazing omelettes!
Overall the standard of presentation, atmosphere, facilities and service with care with exceptional. I can't recommend it highly enough.
With the living history of the Old Town alive inside and outside the door of Helios, and Elli Beach easily walkable to swim in, this is the perfect place for sun, sea and history lovers alike.
In addition to showing me around the Old Town, the hosts met me on arrival and brought my luggage to the apartment for me. Thank you Meike and Jay for a magical stay!

Meike and Jay were fabulous, from the meet and greet to departure and arranging reliable... read more airport transport. Everything they did was above and beyond. Jay provides a very useful mini tour around the old town with restaurant recommendations. Meike makes a plethora of cakes and breads that are brought to you daily as a treat.
The room itself was sympathetically decorated in keeping with the building and the old town itself and the apartment had everything you need for a few nights or a few weeks.
The gardens are tranquil and offer respite from the hustle and bustle and the heat.
The breakfast is amazing but you had better have an appetite as Meike is feeding an army.
If you go to Rhodes town and don't need a pool then you must stay here.

  Our stay at Helios Garden made our trip! Jay and Meike provided excellent directions prior to arrival. They picked us up at the San Francisco Gate to Old Town and... read more walked us in, giving us information along the way, it was like being transported to a different age! Jay carted in our luggage. They welcomed us with drinks and homemade cheesecake. It only gets better from here! Their property is a 17th century building brought up to 21st century comfort and convenience. It is absolutely beautiful with Meike’s decor and gardening, it works like clockwork with Jay’s engineering and maintenance. Jay gave us an orientation tour to start us off in Old Town Rhodes. They asked if we wished to book breakfast. Book it if you want a pure Martha Stewart, House and Garden magazine experience. Then on our enquiry, they recommended a taxi to take us to Lindos, but Takis is so much more than a driver! He shared us with the most beautiful views along the way, stopping for us to take pictures. Our trip to Lindos was perfect with this fine young man, with interesting stories. In other words, just ask Jay and Meike for all you need and didn’t know you needed on the island of Rhodes. They gave us the best restaurant and retail recommendations just as they walked with us or served us breakfast. They gave us gifts of drinks, snacks and a parting present, but most of all, true hospitality and goodwill. We feel we made three friends in Rhodes and leave with the warmest feelings. Efcharisto!

We were the first guests of the season, we were met at the bus station, given a guided tour of the old town and made to feel at home when we arrived. Every day we had surprise gifts left in our apartment. Meike is an excellent cook and we enjoyed the breakfast with homemade breads, cakes and yogurts.
The apartment was clean and comfortable and looked out over the courtyard. A peaceful location in the old town within easy walking distance of main attractions. Would highly recommend staying here and will be back next time we visit Rhodes.

Meike and Jay are amazing hosts and genuinely lovely friendly people. They seem to have thought of everything to make sure a stay at Helios Garden is very memorable.
We were greeted with a bottle of wine, a bowl of fresh fruit and some chocolate favours. Every day, upon our return to the apartment, we would find new favours, which was lovely.
They gave us lots of tips on restaurants and places to visit and we are so glad we chose to stay here.
Our favourite restaurant from previous visits to Rhodes Town was Marco Polo, but Jay recommended Mezzaluna, which has now taken our top slot.
We have been to Rhodes town five times and stayed in hotels costing far more, but Meike and Jay have made sure this is the best and made our stay very memorable.

When we arrived, it was like landing in a Rhodes town paradise. The building and the garden are beautiful, and the apartment is tastefully restored, our suitcases were ready for us in the bedroom, a bottle of wine kindly left for us, and a very welcome bowl full of delicious fruits. We were given a welcome drink and snacks, which were much appreciated.

In the morning Jay took us on an orientation tour of the immediate area which was really helpful.

We had booked breakfasts for each of the three mornings. Well; what a great decision! I couldn’t believe just how fabulous the breakfasts were, and served with a smile and pride in the beautiful, tranquil garden.
